Beagles Make Great Family Dogs

Beagle Family and Patient Companions

Beagles have long made excellent family pets, but up until recently, this was not well publicized. Beagles are not frequently mentioned as family dogs and were not included in lists of the best family dogs. However, during the past several years, more and more households and individuals have publicly displayed their affection for beagles!

Beagles are among the top 10 breeds of family dogs according to the American Kennel Club.

Best Beagle Characteristics That Families Love

The Beagle is a joyful, easygoing, tolerant, and gentle breed of dog that families choose. They are a breed of medium-sized dogs. They are naturally curious and quite active.

Beagles get along nicely with kids, other animals, and domestic pets.

Some Difficult Beagle Characteristics

Despite being fantastic family dogs, Beagles do have some difficult traits. Some of their less appealing characteristics include:

This breed is NOT the one for you if you're seeking for a lap dog because it requires MODERATE DAILY EXERCISE.

They can be obstinate; training requires patience and perseverance.

They are scent hounds; occasionally a scent will overpower both your directives and their senses. They can be difficult to handle if you don't have good obedience training.

However, every breed has its difficulties, and families who chose Beagles enjoy talking about theirs. In my research for this topic, I came across a unique film that beautifully captures the unique moments that a Beagle brings to a family.

Allen and Wallace

This well-known clay animation cartoon, which was created in England in the late 1980s and was well-liked in the 1990s and 2000s, features Gromit as a Beagle. The role of the quiet, perceptive, and devoted anthropomorphic dog is played by Gromit.

Beagles desire to be included in the family.

They have long been a family dog that was privately cherished, but they are just recently becoming more and more well-liked as family dogs.
